Everyone knows how to play tic tac toe right? At the beginning of the school year, I teach my kiddos how to play in case they have not learned yet and then we use that format all year long, just swapping out the content that I want my kiddos to practice.
Tic tac toe is such a simple game, you can swap out any content that you want and your kiddos will know how to play. It is a fast and easy way to switch out your centers. And you can play with any manipulatives!
Or maybe instead of manipulatives, you want the kids to trace the sight words and letters on the cards (not pictured) or X and O the spots that they read.
For sight word tic tac toe, I include all the sight words for the year. Even if the students don't know the word, they want to figure it out so that they can win. The motivation to learn the words is there.
